Matterhorn Subwoofer

In addition to being the world’s largest subwoofer, the “MATTERHORN” just might be the most powerful as well — built by Danley Sound Labs. Continue reading for an overview and video. Click here for first picture in gallery.

Foam Car

Yes, a Lithuanian sculptor actually built a car — or at least the body panels and interior — using polyurethane foam, “the wonder-polymer used in everything from appliances and textiles to electronics and footwear.” Click here for first picture in gallery.

Tossing all OSHA and DOT regulations out the window (no problem in Lithuania), this crafty coach-builder mixes up batches of PU foam in 2-liter soda bottles before “applying” them to the framework of his creation.

Filter Bottle

Called the “LIFESAVER”, this gadget is “the world’s first all in one ultra filtration water bottle — removes bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi and all other microbiological waterborne pathogens without using chemicals like iodine or chlorine.” No word yet on availability. Click here for first picture in gallery.

Winner of countless design and product awards, the LIFESAVER bottle dispenses the need for tablets, boiling, chemicals, tubes, shaking, scrubbing, waiting or effort. The LIFESAVER bottle could be one of the most important designs this century so far.

BMW M3 Car

WebRidesTV pits “BMW’s new M3 against a Dinan-tuned 335i coupe.” Though it may seem equal, “you can’t ignore the allure of the Dinan 335i’s torque and lower curb weight.” Video after the break.

The BMW 335i has proven itself as a credible player in the sports coupe segment, particularly with a tweaked ECU to extract maximum output from its twin-turbo’d 3.0-liter inline-six.

Fracture Trailer

In Fracture, “players are equipped with an arsenal of futuristic weaponry to strategically reshape their surroundings on the fly.” Continue reading for the trailer. Click here for first picture in gallery.

Every action they perform dynamically reshapes the earth in ways no videogame has ever seen. When Briggs throws a tectonic grenade on a level battlefield, the ground blasts upward to provide access to an otherwise unreachable area.

Cylon Battlestar Galactica

Breaking away from life-sized Cylon replicas, Brickmodder Labs decided to build a mini light-up version with LEGO parts. Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

However, when someone goes out of their way to mod a Lego figure, giving it an oscillating LED so it looks just like an classic Cylon… well, the wow factor reaches a whole new level.

Star Wars Hologram

Ok, so it’s not exactly a Star Wars hologram, but Cisco recently demonstrated their new On-Stage TelePresence system which mimics tech holographic technology found in the movies. Video after the break.

The video is pretty boring except for the fact that it’s a guy on stage speaking to two holograms of people who are in other countries. In fact, they look so realistic that it took me a while to figure out that they were holograms.

Future Cars

The Chess car concept features a cabin that rests atop a platform which “can move around in the event of a crash, keeping the passengers out of the deformation zone.” Click here for first picture in gallery.

In theory, the passengers would experience a lot less of the force, or at least the cabin wouldn’t be smashed in, so injuries are a lot less likely.

Capcom Street Fighter 4

Rufus is a new character in Capcom’s upcoming Street Fighter 4, with special moves like the “Spectacle Romance”, “Space Opera Symphony” and “Messiah Kick”. Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.

Some leaked footage from a location test is no proper way to say hi to a “new” Street Fighter IV character, so make sure you give a big warm hello to Rufus and his nice, clean, in-game screenshots.
